I am a licensed clinical social worker with many years experience counseling children, youth, and adults. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am also experienced in working with people from multi-cultural backgrounds. I offer a broad spectrum of approaches to help you understand yourself and make positive changes that will make your life a more fulfilling experience. I use a variety of techniques including psychodynamic, behavioral, and cognitive therapy, as well as mediation conflict resolution techniques. My special interests include child guidance work, divorce counseling, adoption and foster care issues, mediation, and work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress. Mediation is a special interest of mine, and I have helped hundreds of couples resolve custody and visitation issues through mediation. In addition, I have developed a peer mediation program for elementary and secondary students, and I have trained young people throughout the US to act as peer mediators for other students in conflict. I have encountered many challenges as well as successes in raising my eight children, most of whom are adopted and multi-racial. My varied life experiences, as well as my professional training, have provided me with understanding of a multitude of personal difficulties and an ability to guide you to resolve problems that may appear overwhelming. |
